Quinta de San Pedro Alejandrino

The Quinta de San Pedro Alejandrino is an hacienda or quinta built in 1608, famous for being the death place of Simón Bolívar on December 17, 1830. The hacienda is located in the corregimiento of Mamatoco within the tourist district of Santa Marta, near the Caribbean Sea in northern Colombia.

Ciudad Perdida is the archaeological site of an ancient city in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta of Colombia, within the jurisdiction of the municipality of Santa Marta. This city is believed to have been founded about 800 AD. If so, Ciudad Perdida predates Machu Picchu by about 650 years.

4. Pico Cristóbal Colón

Pico Cristóbal Colón is possibly the highest mountain in Colombia, with a reported height of 5,775 metres (18,947 ft). Pico Cristóbal Colón and Pico Simón Bolívar are the two highest peaks in Colombia and almost equal in elevation. One of the two mountains is therefore the fifth most prominent in the world. The nearest peak that is higher is Cayambe, some 1,288 kilometres (800 mi) away. There is a permanent snowcap on this peak and on the nearby mountains. It is part of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta range, along with Pico Simón Bolívar, and was named after Christopher Columbus. This mountain is the highest point in South America outside the Andes.

5. Rodadero Sea Aquarium and Museum

The Rodadero Sea Aquarium and Museum is a public aquarium and maritime museum located in the Inca Cove off the Rodadero beach in Santa Marta, Colombia. It was opened in 1965 by Captain Francisco Ospina Navia. The aquarium is part of the National Network of Museums of Colombia and part of ACOPAZOA, the Colombian branch of the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums. Accessible mainly by motorboat, the aquarium has 13 pools with direct connection to the Caribbean Sea, and 15 glass aquaria that contain over 805 animals that include sharks, sea turtles, dolphins, sea lions, crustaceans, fishes and seabirds, 98% of which are native to the area.
