1. 乔家大院
The Qiao Family Compound, originally the Zaizhong Hall and officially Qiao's Grand Courtyard, is a courtyard house located in Qi County, Jinzhong Prefecture, Shanxi Province, China, approximately 30 kilometers (20 mi) northeast of Pingyao. It is the residential compound of well-known financier Qiao Zhiyong, who was the most famous member of the Qiao family. Construction began in 1756 during the reign of the Qianlong Emperor in the Qing dynasty and was completed sometime in the 18th century. The estate covers 9000 square meters and has 313 rooms with 4000 square meters within 6 large courtyards and 19 smaller courtyards.
2. Confucian Temple
Pingyao Confucian Temple is located at No. 120, Chenghuangmiao Street, southeast of Pingyao Ancient City, which was built in the early years of Tang Zhenguan and is the earliest existing Confucius temple in China; The Dacheng Hall of the Temple of Literature was rebuilt in the third year of Jin Dading (1163) and is the only Jin Dynasty building among the Confucius temples in China. The Temple of Literature attached to Shaoshan Academy, the late Qing dynasty thinker Xu Jibi served as the head of the mountain, teaching for ten years.
3. 城隍庙
Jiexiu Chenghuang Temple is located at No.275, East Street, Beiguan Street, Jiexiu City, Shanxi Province, China. It was built in the third year of Hongwu of the Ming Dynasty (1370) and overhauled in the eighth year of Hongzhi of the Ming Dynasty (1495). The existing buildings have mountain gate, stage, bell and drum tower, main hall, east and west stomping hall and east and west corridor veranda. In 2013, it was listed as the seventh batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
4. Zhenguo Temple
Zhenguo Temple is a Buddhist temple located 10 km from Pingyao in the village of Hadongcun, in Shanxi Province, China. The temple's oldest hall, the Wanfo Hall, was built in 963 during the Northern Han dynasty, and is notable for featuring very large brackets that hold up the roof and flying eaves. The sculptures inside the hall are among the only examples of 10th century Buddhist sculpture in China.
5. 城隍庙
Taigu City God Temple is located in the courtyard of Taigu District Real Estate Company in Shanxi Province, and was listed as a cultural relic protection unit of Taigu County in 1956, and now only one hall remains, which is a relic of the Ming Dynasty, with five wide faces and three deep rooms, a single eaves hanging from the top of the mountain, and the back eaves out of the hugging building.
6. Shuanglin Temple
The Shuanglin Temple is a large Buddhist temple in the Shanxi Province of China. It is situated in the countryside of Qiaotou village about 6–7 kilometres (3.7–4.3 mi) southwest of the ancient city of Pingyao. It is among the many cultural monuments located in the Pingyao, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site inscribed in 1997. The temple is protected by the state administration.
7. Wang Family Courtyard
The Wang Family Compound is the largest of the Shanxi Courtyard Houses. Located in Lingshi County, Shanxi, the fortress compound is a tight arrangement of courtyard residences. It is one of 123 residences listed as part of the "Ancient Residences in Shanxi and Shaanxi Provinces" entry in the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List in 2008 in the cultural category.
8. 隆福寺
Longfu Temple, located in Nanzheng Village, Nanzheng Township, Pingyao County, Jinzhong City, Shanxi Province, was listed as a cultural relic protection unit of Pingyao County in 1982, a cultural relic protection unit in Shanxi Province in 2004, and the seventh batch of national key cultural relics protection units in 2013.
9. Baiyun Temple
Baiyun Temple, located on the West Baofeng Mountain of Liangjiatan Village, Buyi Township, Pingyao County, Jinzhong City, Shanxi Province, was listed as a cultural relic protection unit in Shanxi Province on June 10,2004, and was listed as the seventh batch of national key cultural relic protection units in 2013.
10. 南神庙
Located in Gankeng Village, Gutao Town, Pingyao County, Jinzhong City, Shanxi Province, Nanshen Temple is a temple dedicated to the Bodhisattva of Light, and was listed as a cultural relic protection unit in Shanxi Province in 2004 and the seventh batch of national key cultural relics protection units in 2013.
11. 文庙
Taigu Confucian Temple is located in Taigu Middle School, Taigu District, Jinzhong City, Shanxi Province, China, and was listed as a cultural relic protection unit of Jinzhong City on January 15, 2003. On August 4, 2021, it was upgraded to a cultural relic protection unit of Shanxi Province.
12. Taigu Drum Tower
Taigu Drum Tower is located in the center of the old city cross street in Taigu District, Jinzhong City, Shanxi Province, and was listed as a cultural relic protection unit of Taigu County in 1956 and a cultural relic protection unit of Shanxi Province in 2004.
13. Wen Temple
Jiexiu Confucian Temple, located at No. 19, Xuexiang, Southeast Street, Jiexiu City, Shanxi Province, China, was listed as a cultural relic protection unit of Jiexiu County in 1982 and a cultural relic protection unit of Jinzhong City in 2003.
14. Anchan Temple
Anzen Temple is located in the primary school affiliated to Taigu Normal School, Taigu District, Shanxi Province, Shanxi Province, China. It was listed as the sixth batch of national key cultural relics protection units in 2006.
15. Houtu Temple
Jiexiu HoutTemple is located in Miaodi Street, Jiexiu City, Shanxi Province, China. It is a temple of Quanzhen School of Taoism. In 2001, it was listed as the fifth batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
16. City God Temple
The Temple of the City God of Pingyao is a well-preserved Taoist temple located in Pingyao County, Shanxi Province, China. The temple consists of three separate temples on a complex, covering over 7,300 square meters.
