6. Sagtümpel

The Sagentümpel is a karst spring in the municipality of Bad Mitterndorf in the district of Tauplitz in Styria. The spring pot is located at an altitude of 978 m above sea level at the southern foot of the Totes Gebirge. The oval spring pot is 26 m long, 14 m wide and about 10 m deep. The Sägetümpel shows the flow fluctuations typical of karst springs. The spring was used for drinking water supply at the end of the 20th century and was heavily built. In 2017, the spring pot was renaturalized and is now a hiking and excursion destination. In the past, there were several water-powered sawmills and mills along the rising stream. In the Austrian Cave Directory, the Sagentümpel has the cadastral number 1622/60.

7. Traweng

The traweng is a 1981 m above sea level. A. Hoher Berg in the Dead Mountains in Styria on the northern edge of the Tauplitzalm. The mountain forms a multi -summit comb with a large north wall that falls into Langkar. To the west, the mountain falls down to the Öddertörl. To the east, the traweng is connected to the fall cock via the notch of the Steirertor. The south flank interspersed with Schrofen falls down to the Tauplitzalm. There is a summit cross at the summit. The name is probably derived from Tra = for cattle.

8. Tauplitzer Wasserfall

The Tauplitz Waterfall is a 30 m high waterfall in the municipality of Bad Mitterndorf in the district of Tauplitz in Styria. The Sagtümpelbach, which rises in the Sagtümpel, plunges into the Grimmingbach after a flow distance of about 650 m. The water runs down there in the form of a veil over a steeply dipping smooth layer of banked, medium to dark grey, brittle, marly limestone of the Allgäu layers. It can be reached from the car park on Gnanitzstraße via a footpath in about 30 minutes.

9. Lawinenstein

The Lawinenstein, also Lowea(h)n, is a 1965 m high mountain in the Totes Gebirge in Styria on the western edge of the Tauplitzalm. The mountain drops steeply to the north and west into the valley of the Salzabach. The eastern flank drops down to the Tauplitzalm. There is a summit cross at the summit. In winter, the Lawinenstein can be reached by chairlift. There is a ski slope on the south flank. The name is a corruption of the very old, perhaps pre-Slavic name Löweahn, as this mountain is still called by the locals today.
