Activities in Departamento Ushuaia1. Faro de San Juan de Salvamento
The San Juan de Salvamento Lighthouse is located northeast of the Isla de los Estados, province of Tierra del Fuego, Antarctica and South Atlantic Islands, in Patagonia, southern Argentina. It is the oldest lighthouse in the Argentine Republic and the first to be built near the southern waters. Jules Verne's novel The Lighthouse at the End of the World gave the lighthouse international recognition as well as its nickname.
2. Monte Olivia
Mount Olivia is a hill located in the Argentine sector of the Isla Grande de Tierra del Fuego, Province of Tierra del Fuego, Antarctica and South Atlantic Islands. It is located east of its capital: the city of Ushuaia, and close to the north bank of the Beagle Channel. Its altitude is 1326 m a.s.l.
3. Glaciar Martial Este
The Martial Glacier is located in the Martial Mountains, immediately north of the city of Ushuaia, on the Isla Grande de Tierra del Fuego, in the province of Tierra del Fuego, Antarctica and South Atlantic Islands, Argentina. Its front is located at about 1000 m a.s.l. It is the most important source of drinking water in the city.
4. Faro Año Nuevo
The Año Nuevo Lighthouse is a lighthouse in Argentina that is located on Observatory Island, which is part of the Año Nuevo Archipelago, in the Department of Ushuaia, belonging to the Province of Tierra del Fuego, Antarctica and South Atlantic Islands. It was declared a National Historic Monument in January 1999.
5. Cerro Vicinguerra
Mount Vinciguerra, also called Mount Vinciguerra, is the highest peak in the Argentine sector of the archipelago of Tierra del Fuego. It is located southeast of the Isla Grande de Tierra del Fuego, belonging to the department of Ushuaia, in the Fuegian portion of the province of Tierra del Fuego, Antarctica and South Atlantic Islands, being also the maximum peak of that province, if only the territories under effective sovereignty are taken into account. Its altitude is 1470 m a.s.l., although it is also granted 1449 m a.s.l.
6. Cabo San Pio
The Cabo San Pio lighthouse is located at 55°03′00"S 66°31′00"W off Nueva Island, on the coast of the north shore of the Beagle Channel, in the Ushuaia department of the province of Tierra del Fuego, Antarctica and South Atlantic Islands (Argentina). It is located on the cape of the same name, on a cliffy coast with narrow beaches and very difficult access from the sea.
7. Cerro Cinco Hermanos
Cerro Cinco Hermanos is a mountain in Tierra del Fuego, Argentina, located east of Ushuaia, in the western part of the Sierra Sorondo of the eastern Fuegian mountain range that continues east towards the Mitre Peninsula. It is 1037 meters high; it does not have glaciers, but glaciers and nesting niches. Its name was given in reference to its five well-defined peaks.

Its altitude is 823 m a.s.l.
9. Faro Le Maire
The Cape Le Maire Lighthouse is an uninhabited lighthouse of the Argentine Navy that is located at the location 54°48′00"S 64°43′00"W on the island of the States, more precisely in Crossley Bay, on the Strait of Le Maire. It belongs to the Ushuaia Department of the province of Tierra del Fuego, Antarctica and South Atlantic Islands (Argentina).
10. Faro San Gonzalo
The Cabo San Gonzalo Lighthouse is an uninhabited lighthouse of the Argentine Navy located at 54°58′00"S 65°58′00"W, in Aguirre Bay on the entrance to the Beagle Channel, in the Ushuaia department of the province of Tierra del Fuego, Antarctica and South Atlantic Islands (Argentina). It was originally planned to be erected elsewhere, but due to topographical difficulties I finally did it on Kinnaird Point.
