The Martinikirche is a pseudo-basilica dedicated to St. Martin in Siegen, which has existed in its present form since the 16th century, and whose history dates back to the 8th century. Its oldest surviving documentary mention dates back to the early 14th century. The church is located on the western rocky spur of the Siegberg on the outskirts of the medieval town of Siegen, immediately west of the Lower Castle. The Martinikirche is the oldest surviving sacred building in the city and has been a Protestant church since the time of the Reformation.
