Sight 1: Serangheion Bath
The so-called Tunnel is an underground passage, a natural cave, in Piraeus. It is considered a cave of archaeological interest with some of the constructions dating back to the prehistoric Minyans, of Ionian origin, who seem to have settled permanently in the area, coming from Orchomenos of Boeotia. It is a cavernous structure discovered in 1897 and is located on the east side of Kastella on a steep rocky coast above the sea, in today's location "Votsalakia", formerly known as "Paraskevas beach", from the name of the owner of the seaside secular tavern that used to exist there, hence the name "cave of Paraskevas" and formerly "cave of Lalaounis".
