The Evangelical Church of St. Georg is a church building in Hattingen. It is located in the historic city center on the church square. The municipality belongs to the Hattingen-Witten church district, Evangelical Church of Westphalia.
Sight 2: Heilig-Geist-Spital
The Heilig-Geist-Spital was a poorhouse and orphanage in the city center of Hattingen at Emschestraße 38. It is located on the eastern part of the church square of the church of St. George. In 1474, the Hospital Order of the Holy Spirit built a hospital and inn here on the basis of donations "in honour of God and the Holy Spirit and the patrons of St. George and Margaret".
