Individual Sights in DachauSight 1: Ehemaliges Wirtschaftsgebäude
The former farm building of the Dachau concentration camp is a U-shaped brick structure that now houses the exhibition of the memorial. It was located separately from the SS compound on the prisoner grounds of the Dachau concentration camp. At the time of National Socialism, it contained, among other things, a kitchen and the notorious bathroom, i.e. a shower facility, which the SS used as a place for torture, among other things.
Sight 2: Guardhouse (Jourhaus)
Jourhaus was the name of the entrance building to the prisoners' camp at Dachau and Gusen concentration camps. It housed administrative and command offices and was the location for disciplinary hearings of prisoners.
Sight 3: Concentration camp Dachau
The Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site is located north-northwest of Munich on the eastern edge of Dachau. It was erected on 5 May 1965 as a memorial and place of remembrance on the former prisoner grounds of the Dachau concentration camp. Since 2003 it has been under the auspices of the Bavarian Memorials Foundation. The archive of the memorial site and part of the exhibition are located in the former farm building of the camp, which has been preserved. The memorial is visited annually by about 1,000,000 people from all over the world.
Sight 4: Catholic Mortal Agony of Christ chapel
The fear of death christi chapel is a Roman Catholic chapel in Dachau. According to plans by the Munich architectural professor Josef Wiedemann, it was built on the site of the Dachau concentration camp and inaugurated on August 5, 1960.
Sight 5: Protestant Church of Reconcilation
The Church of Reconciliation is a Protestant church that was built from 1965 to 1967 on the site of the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site according to plans by the architect Helmut Striffler.
