The Medici aqueduct, or Rungis water aqueduct, was built by order of Marie de Medici, in order to bring to Paris the waters of the springs collected in Rungis, in the current department of Val-de-Marne. Commissioned in 1623, the Medici Aqueduct is still in operation. It is owned by the City of Paris and managed by Eau de Paris.

The museum of the Departmental Domain of Sceaux, owned by the Hauts-de-Seine department, is located in the heart of the Parc de Sceaux and includes several buildings. Its permanent collections evoke the art of living in Île-de-France, from Louis XIV to Napoleon III, and more precisely, from the creation of the Domaine de Sceaux, at the initiative of Jean-Baptiste Colbert, to its rebirth, by the will of the Duke and Duchess of Treviso. The collections are presented in the current Château de Sceaux, built between 1856 and 1860 for the Treviso family.
