The Medici aqueduct, or Rungis water aqueduct, was built by order of Marie de Medici, in order to bring to Paris the waters of the springs collected in Rungis, in the current department of Val-de-Marne. Commissioned in 1623, the Medici Aqueduct is still in operation. It is owned by the City of Paris and managed by Eau de Paris.

The Capture of Kufra was part of the Allied Western Desert Campaign during the Second World War. Kufra is a group of oases in the Kufra District of south-eastern Cyrenaica in the Libyan Desert.
