Individual Sights in FaaborgSight 1: Helligåndskirken
The Church of the Holy Spirit, or just Faaborg Church, is a church in Faaborg Parish on South Funen.
Sight 2: Faaborg Museum for Fynsk Malerkunst
Faaborg Museum is a collection of paintings, sculptures, architecture and furniture art mainly collected from the circle of Funen artists who, together with the founder, cannery manufacturer Mads Rasmussen, created the museum in 1910 in Konservesgaarden in Faaborg. The collection primarily includes works made in the period 1885-1925, and the museum continues to acquire works of relevance to the historical collection.
Sight 3: Faaborg Klokketårn
Faaborg Bell Tower is a free-standing church tower built at the end of the 1400s in connection with Faaborg's first church, St. Nicolai Church from around 1250. After the Reformation, the town was given the Church of the Holy Spirit, which had been built as a monastery church a few years earlier. Sct. Nicolai Church was then demolished. The tower remained standing, serves as a bell tower for the Church of the Holy Spirit, and was listed in 1918.
Sight 4: Ymerbrønden
The Ymer well is a 1912 sculpture by Danish sculptor Kai Nielsen. Kai Nielsen's original edition stands in Sandstone at the Faaborg Museum while a bronze molding stands in the square in Fåborg. It was a canned manufacturer, the Council of State and the patron Mads Rasmussen who gave the city the sculpture.
Sight 5: Vesterport
Vesterport is a medieval town gate in Faaborg on southwestern Funen. It is the only thing left of the town's old fortifications and city gates. It is also one of the two remaining city gates in Denmark, which has been preserved from the Middle Ages. The other is the Mill Gate in Stege on Møn.
