Monument to L. A. Zagoskin - a monument in the city of Penza near the building of the Museum of Folk Art, perpetuating the Russian traveler, a researcher of Russian America, a native of the village of Nikolaevka Penza province Lavrenty Alekseevich Zagoskin (1808-1890). Sculptor I. V. Porvatov, architect A. Yu. Belov. It was established and solemnly opened in 2018 by the 210th anniversary of the birth of L. A. Zagoskin. One of the three -social monuments in Russia and the world L. A. Zagoskin. The image of the monument is present on the postal card “their names in the history of Penza. L. A. Zagoskin (1808-1890), researcher of Alaska ”, released in 2018. The creation of the monument was carried out as part of the project “Return to the Native Coasts”, developed by the Penza regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society and the presidential grants funded by the State Support of NGOs.
