1. Stary cmentarz

Cemetery complex in Łomża. In 1801, outside the borders of Łomża, an area was marked out for the new Roman Catholic cemetery. In the 1830s, a separate area for the Evangelical Cemetery was attached next to it, and in the early sixties also for the Orthodox cemetery. The boundaries separating these three necropolises have changed and eventually blurred. Today, these cemeteries create so -called A team of religious and municipal cemeteries. The cemetery complex is one of the oldest necropolises in Poland. Every year, individual tombstones are renovated. At the nineteenth-century Łomża cemetery there are over 560 historic tombstones diverse in terms of stylish, artistic and material. The tombs and tombstones in the classicist, neoclassical, neo -Gothic, eclectic style, some with neo -Renaissance elements have survived.
