TOP Bommelerwaard

A tourist transfer point (TOP) is a 'natural junction', where various cycling, sailing, skate and walking routes start. Each top is recognizable by the landmark, a kind of obelisk is used in the east of the country, a grass hall in the Groene Hart and a strikingly large information column in the Gooi & Vecht region and Rivierenland region. At tops there are often also a few seats, a bicycle rack and a signpost. Tops in the Gooi & Vecht region are also always equipped with a bicycle rental, hospitality, (free) toilets, an ANWB bicycle service box and a VVV information point.

2. Maarten van Rossumhuis

Maarten van Rossumhuis

The Maarten van Rossumhuis is a 16th-century house in the Dutch city of Zaltbommel. The monumental building was built around 1535 on behalf of the famous Gelderse military Maarten van Rossum. The building is exuberantly decorated with renaissance sculpture for the Netherlands. The appearance of turrets and tilts is also called a city castle, which comes back in the city castle Zaltbommel, the name given to the building-based museum in 2008.

3. Grote of Sint-Maartenskerk

The Great or Sint Maarten Church of Zaltbommel is a large basilica with a three-handed ship and a one-hand choir and is one of the most important examples of the Dutch Gothic. It is a Protestant church today (PKN).

5. Oude Watertoren

The old water tower in Zaltbommel was designed by Jan Schotel and was built in 1905. The water tower has a height of 21 meters and had a water reservoir of 50 m³ and a clean water cellar of 6 meters deep.
