1. Biesbosch MuseumEiland

The Biesbosch Museum Island is a museum and visitor center in the outskirts of Werkendam in the municipality of Altena, the province of Noord-Brabant. It was opened in 1994 and is located in the middle of the Biesbosch National Park on the Hilweg. The museum building was renewed and enlarged in 2001 and in 2015. In 2015 it was on a newly formed island. In 2017 it received the International Architecture Prize Architizer Awards. The permanent exhibition of the museum tells the story about (about) life with water in the past, present and future. The visitor center consists of a museum café, terrace on the water, shop and information about the Biesboschregio.

2. Natuurpoort Fort Altena

Natuurpoort Fort Altena

A tourist transfer point (TOP) is a 'natural junction', where various cycling, sailing, skate and walking routes start. Each top is recognizable by the landmark, a kind of obelisk is used in the east of the country, a grass hall in the Groene Hart and a strikingly large information column in the Gooi & Vecht region and Rivierenland region. At tops there are often also a few seats, a bicycle rack and a signpost. Tops in the Gooi & Vecht region are also always equipped with a bicycle rental, hospitality, (free) toilets, an ANWB bicycle service box and a VVV information point.

3. Vervoorne Molen

The Vervoorne Molen is a polder mill built around 1700 on the Schenkeldijk in Werkendam, in the municipality of Altena. The mill was intended to crumble the Vervorne Polder and replaced an earlier wip mill. The ground sailer is a wooden eight side mill, equipped with a screen wheel with a diameter of 5.71 m.

4. Zandwijkse Molen

Zandwijkse Molen is a polder mill from 1699 located between Uppel and Sleeuwijk. Owner is Molenstichting Land van Heusden and Altena. The mill is the last remaining mill of a series of seven mills that stood side by side.

The Uitwijkse Molen is a polder mill from 1700, located on the Uppelse Steeg between Uppel and Sleeuwijk in the North Brabant municipality of Altena. Owner is Molenstichting Land van Heusden and Altena.
