The Vorderburg is a castle in the town of Schlitz in the Vogelsbergkreis in Central Hesse and is one of the five Schlitz castles: These are, in addition to the Vorderburg, the Hinterburg with Hinterturm and the Ottoburg, all of which formed the medieval town fortifications integrated into the city wall, together with the Schachtenburg and Hallenburg Castle, which was located just outside the city.
