The Elisabethenbrunnen is one of the most famous fountains in the spa town of Bad Homburg vor der Höhe. The spring and fountain are named after Princess Elisabeth, the wife of Landgrave Frederick VI of Hesse-Homburg and daughter of the British King George III. The water of the well is a sodium chloride acid. The water temperature is 10.5 degrees. It has been used to treat stomach and intestinal diseases. For the public, there is a simply designed tap within sight – on the edge of the spa park – in the immediate vicinity of the street.
2. Kriegerdenkmal 1870/71
The war memorial of the city of Bad Homburg commemorates the five Homburg soldiers who died in the German-French War of 1870/1871. It was designed by the master builder Christian Holler and executed by the sculptor Jacob Mey. The ceremonial unveiling took place on May 10, 1875. The founder was the local warrior association, which had been founded on the occasion of the first sedan celebration of the city.
