Thisted Girl also "Limfjordspigen" and "Byens smukkest" is a bronze sculpture made by sculptor Henning Wienberg Jensen in 1947. In 1956, the sculpture Wienberg won the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts' gold medal when he participated in the assignment "A free-standing nude figure for a modern park.". The sculpture was bought the following year by Thisted Municipality and erected on a granite plinth at Kystvejen in Thisted. The Thisted girl is clearly inspired by Greek statues of the goddess of love Aphrodite.
2. Vorupør Kirke
Vorupør Church was built in 1902 when the old church had become too small for the rapidly growing congregation in the fishing village. The church is a straight-armed cross church built in red brick. Several objects in the church come from the former church, this applies to e.g. the altarpiece, the nave and the chandeliers. The church was designed by architect Claudius August Wiinholt.
3. Vorupør Bagfyr
Vorupør Bagfyr is located in the small fishing village Nørre Vorupør in Nordvestlylland. The lighthouse is a beacon and, together with Vorupør Forfyr, will lead the fishing vessels into the beach through the most advantageous route through the migratory reefs. The lighthouse was built in 1894.
4. Sjørring Volde
Sjørring Vold, or as the place is often referred to in the area, Sjørring Volde, is the remains of a medieval castle in Sjørring in Thy. It was listed in 1885, and from being in private ownership, the place was bought by A/S Sjøring Vold in 1918.
5. Klitmøller Kirke
Klitmøller Church is a church in Klitmøller Parish in Thisted Municipality. The church was consecrated on May 3, 1872 and is built in red brick. Since then, the church has been restored in 1949, 1966/67 and inside in 2000/01.
6. Thisted Museum
Sulfur Museum is a museum of sulfur culture and history established in 1905. The museum has an exhibition of cultural relics and an exhibition about j.p.. I think we must finish this work in the next few years.
