1. Arnborg Kirke
Arnborg Church is a church at Rind Å 15 km south of Herning. It was built around 1200 and consists of a Romanesque chancel and nave in granite and a porch from the 1500s. The towerless church is located high, as on a bastion, above Rind Å. The cemetery is divided in the middle by a deep ravine, formed by a violent slide in the mid-1800s. It is said that a large part of the cemetery drifted away with coffins in the strong current in Rind Å. The baptismal font is a Romanesque granite font. The church bell is from 1710. The organ is from 1958. The church and cemetery are very beautifully located overlooking the river valley close to the confluence with Skjern Å. Year of construction 1150-1200. The church is open to visitors during the daytime.
Herningsholm is a manor house from the year 1579 located in Herning in the northeastern part of the city. It is Herning's oldest building, and it was originally built in the Renaissance style by the nobleman Joshua von Qualen, who had it built on a rampart near a stream in a damp meadow area. The farm was then called Vig, but was rebuilt in 1754 and built in simple classicist style using the old manor walls from the Renaissance. The unsymmetrical windows of the main building bear witness to the time before the Baroque period made its entry into Denmark.
