Acer is a genus of trees and shrubs commonly known as maples. The genus is placed in the family Sapindaceae. There are approximately 132 species, most of which are native to Asia, with a number also appearing in Europe, northern Africa, and North America. Only one species, Acer laurinum, extends to the Southern Hemisphere. The type species of the genus is the sycamore maple, Acer pseudoplatanus, the most common maple species in Europe. Maples usually have easily recognizable palmate leaves and distinctive winged fruits. The closest relatives of the maples are the horse chestnuts. Maple syrup is made from the sap of some maple species. It is one of the most common genera of trees in Asia.
2. Château de Moulbaix
The Château de Moulbaix is a castle abandoned since 2005, near the village of Moulbaix in the district of Ath, in the province of Hainaut. The picturesque Tudor Revival castle was designed around 1860 by the Athois architect Désiré Limbourg. Burned down and restored in 1889, the castle is part of an estate of 62 hectares, including 2 hectares of landscaped park designed by the landscaper Louis Fuchs.

Inaugurated in October 2000, the House of the Giants is a museum located in Ath, in the Belgian province of Hainaut. The Museum of the House of Giants is dedicated to the giants of Europe and mainly to the wicker giants of Ath. The museum houses a show tour equipped with audiovisual means. Children can complement their visit to the museum with creative workshops.

The Saint-Julien church is a Catholic religious building located in the heart of the city of Ath, Belgium. 5. Moulin de la Marquise
The mill of the Marquise is located on the outskirts of the village of Moulbaix, southwest and some five kilometers from the town of Ath, in the province of Hainaut. Built in 1614, it overlooks the castle of the Count of Ursel, its owner. It is located in a very cereal region.
